Delete Your Data
How to have your data removed from Drone Pilot ADS-B, the mobile app published by Midsouth Drone Services LLC. This page explains exactly what we hold, how to have it deleted, what is removed, and what is kept.
How to request deletion
There are two routes. The first is immediate and does not require contacting us.
Delete it yourself, inside the app
Open Drone Pilot ADS-B, go to Settings, and choose Delete My Data. Confirm when prompted. Your record is removed straight away — no request, no waiting, and no need to contact us.
Message us, if you no longer have the app installed
Send us a message through our contact form with Delete My Data as the subject. Tell us the store account you used (Google Play or Apple) and the approximate date you first installed the app, so we can locate the right record. We will confirm by reply once it is done.
What is deleted
Deleted immediately, and this cannot be undone:
- Your account and your sign-in identity.
- Your license status.
- Your subscription record.
- Your saved settings held against that account.
- This phone's registration with your receivers.
- Your cloud backup. In app version 2.1.38 or later, Delete My Data turns cloud backup off and deletes the backup of your app setup for every receiver this phone or tablet has backed up to, including the pilotADSB EFB backup for those receivers.
A backup made from another phone or tablet, or before you reinstalled the app (unless that receiver has been connected since), is not removed this way. To delete it, connect to that receiver, open the app's backup settings (in Drone Pilot ADS-B: App Backup & Restore) and choose Delete cloud backup, or email us at support@pilotadsb.com. Your phone's own Google or iCloud backup is run by Google or Apple, not by us, so Delete My Data does not reach it.
Because the sign-in identity itself is removed, the app does not simply forget your settings — the account ceases to exist, and the next time you open the app it starts as a fresh install.
pilotADSB EFB and the pilotADSB EFB Configurator do not have a delete button yet. To have your EFB license record or a support report deleted, use our contact form and we will delete it within 30 days.
We do not keep a record of where you have been. Your GPS position is worked out on your device, and the requests the app makes for weather and similar data carry only a rounded position. The exceptions are ones you choose: a Live Feed or a shared recording sends your precise position (a shared recording is deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you delete it in the app), and places you save yourself, such as favorites, are kept in your cloud backup until it is deleted (see above). Our apps show no advertising, and we do not sell user data.
What is kept, and why
- Your receiver's own license stays with the receiver. The license included with a pilotADSB Receiver (its start and end dates) and an EFB unlock belong to the hardware, not to you, so deleting your data does not remove them.
- Your subscription and payment records are not held by us. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store, and are held by them under their own policies. Deleting your data also removes our link to your purchase. Billing history, payment methods and cancellation are managed in your store account, and deleting your app data here does not cancel a subscription — see below.
- Hardware orders are separate. If you bought a receiver from pilotADSB.com, the order record is held by our store for accounting and tax purposes, as we are legally required to do. It is not part of your app data and is not removed by the steps above.
- Community forum accounts are separate. If you registered at forum.pilotadsb.com, that account and its posts are held separately. To remove it, send us a message through our contact form and say so explicitly.
Deleting your data does not cancel your subscription
These are two separate things, handled by two different systems. If you want to stop being billed, cancel in the store you subscribed through:
- Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Drone Pilot ADS-B → Cancel.
- Apple: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Drone Pilot ADS-B → Cancel Subscription.
Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
