Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the free trial?
The Drone Pilot ADS-B app includes a 30-day free trial starting from your first launch. No credit card or payment is required to start. After 30 days, a subscription of $4.99/month or $39.99/year is required to continue using the app.
Does the app work with my existing Stratux?
Yes! Drone Pilot ADS-B supports any Stratux-based ADS-B receiver, including devices you built yourself or purchased elsewhere. Visit our BYOD page for instructions on loading our optimized Stratux image onto your device.
What Android version is required?
The app requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher. For the best experience, we recommend Android 10 or higher. Bluetooth ADS-B requires Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) support, which is standard on all modern Android devices.
Is there an iOS version?
Not yet — iOS support is coming soon! We're working hard on the iOS version. Sign up for our email list to be notified the moment it launches.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through the Google Play Store. Open the Play Store app → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Drone Pilot ADS-B → Cancel. Your access continues until the end of the paid period.
Why am I not seeing any traffic?
First, confirm your receiver shows "ADS-B: Connected" in the top bar of the app. If connected but no traffic shows, there may simply be no ADS-B-equipped aircraft within range. Visit ADSBexchange.com to verify live traffic in your area. If traffic shows there but not in the app, try swapping your antennas — if traffic appears after swapping, your 1090 antenna may need attention.
Does it work without an internet connection?
ADS-B traffic works without internet — it comes directly from your receiver via Bluetooth or WiFi. However, the background map, weather radar, and TFR data require an internet connection. We recommend using your phone's cellular data or a mobile hotspot while flying.
